The College of Southern Idaho’s Blaine County center will host a pair of pro-bono, Spanish-language tax assistance and information days on Tuesday, Feb. 12, and Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Campus in Hailey.
Jerome-based La Posada, Inc., which specializes in low-income tax consultations, will hold free one-on-one meetings to explain new changes in the tax code, review prior tax returns, and interpret on communications or letters from the Internal Revenue Service. La Posada staff will help renew Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (commonly called ITINs); numbers with the middle digits 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 81, and 82, expired at the end of 2018 and must be renewed.
“La Posada is a wonderful organization and they do important work in southern Idaho to provide assistance to underserved members of our community. These free tax clinics are designed for Spanish speakers and we are excited to partner with La Posada to serve people in need of tax support, as well as ITIN document renewal,” said CSI Blaine County Director Hallie Star.
