The Blaine County School District is seeking applicants to fill public seats on four committees as they reform for the 2019-20 school year.
Two spots are up for those interested in serving on a committee to review the curriculum and instructional materials, responsible for identifying and recommending programs and texts to the school board. That’s run by the district, picked by administrators on the Teaching and Learning Team.
This year’s group will focus on the district’s health and physical education curriculum.
Applicants should expect to commit to monthly meetings between September and June, typically scheduled to start at 4 p.m. The committee interest form, available online, is due electronically or physically to the district office by Sept. 1.
The other three groups serve to advise the school board. The Policy and Wellness committees are expected to reform in September, followed by the Finance Committee, once the current team wraps up its work in the fall.
Those members are selected by the board, based on nominations by individual trustees.
Anyone interested in taking on the job is welcome to reach out to their representative trustee, board Chairwoman Ellen Mandeville said. To find out how to contact them, check the district’s board member directory.
