The Community Library will be closed on the morning and early afternoon of Friday, Nov. 1, reopening at 3 p.m.
Then, at 4 p.m., all are welcome to attend a special presentation in the lecture hall by Piers Kaniuka, coauthor of “Real People, Real Recovery: Overcoming Addiction in Modern America.”
Kaniuka, director of spiritual life at Granite Recovery Centers, will speak on the American opioid epidemic, how drug addiction develops and what steps people can take to overcome it. Kaniuka has a master’s degree in theological studies and another in counseling psychology.
This event is organized and presented in collaboration with the St. Luke’s Wood River Foundation. For more information about this and other programs, visit the library online at comlib.org.
