With election season looming, the Mountain Express is gearing up for its regular Pizza and Politics forum series.

These free, public events offer the voting public a chance to meet with local political candidates in a forum moderated by Express staff. Citizens can learn about electoral platforms, ask their own questions, voice important concerns and, of course, enjoy some complimentary pizza.

These events are nonpartisan and take the form of a question and answer format, rather than heated debates. The objective is to help keep the voting public as up-to-date and in-the-know as possible ahead of the impending elections.

The first forum will focus on candidates for Ketchum City Council and will begin at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 16, at Whiskey Jacques’ on Main Street in Ketchum.

The second will follow on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the Old Blaine County Courthouse in Hailey, featuring candidates for the Hailey City Council.

Election Day this year in Blaine County is set for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
