Look up!

One of the most sought-after meteor showers of the year that happens every August is occurring once again, this Friday, Aug. 9, through Tuesday, Aug. 13.

The Perseid Meteor Shower is predicted to produce the greatest number of meteors on the mornings of Aug. 11, 12 and 13, but on those mornings a bright moon will veil many of the meteors from view. It’s recommended that meteor-seekers view several mornings in a row to maximize chances of catching a glimpse of these space oddities.

There are many great viewing spots in the Wood River Valley and surrounding area. For more information and a map of the best Dark Sky-viewing locations, visit visitsunvalley.com.
