The Community Library will host actor and playwright Neil Brookshire this weekend for an advanced reading of his new work in progress, “War Changes Everything.”

The story was inspired by a friend of Brookshire, to whom the actor reached out while researching a role. His friend spoke in detail about his experiences as a military medic and the challenges that face soldiers attempting to transition back into civilian life.

“War Changes Everything” builds upon those experiences to form a dramatic narrative. As it is a work in- progress, Brookshire will discuss with the audience afterward, taking comments.

Local theatergoers will likely recognize Brookshire as Mr. Darcy in Company of Fools’ recent production of “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberly.”

The play reading will start at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, at The Community Library, 415 Spruce Ave. N., Ketchum. It should last about an hour. Visit comlib.org for details.
