The Hailey Public Library is now offering Baby Time every Monday from noon to 12:30 p.m. All parents with infants are welcome to attend this event, whether or not they have a library card.
While the focus will be on nursery rhymes, stories and songs gauged for babies from newborns to 18 months old, older siblings are welcome to attend as well.
“Baby Time is designed to help build parents’ skills and confidence in interacting with their child in predictable, fun and loving ways,” explained children’s librarian Lea Colvill, who has a master’s degree in curriculum development and has studied early childhood literacy. “It also helps parents make new friends.”
On the third Monday of each month, a nurse from the South Central Public Health District will join Baby Time to answer questions parents may have about development and childhood well-being.
On alternating months, a Spanish-speaking nurse from the district will attend.
