Saturday is World Migratory Bird Day, an occasion that the Environmental Resource Center plans to celebrate with the help of local artist and birding extraordinaire Poo Wright-Pulliam.
The event will kick off at 10 a.m. Saturday with an hour-long presentation by Wright-Pulliam. The lecture will introduce those in attendance to the myriad avian species that return to the Ketchum area for the warmer summer months.
Following that segment, Wright-Pulliam will lead participants on a walking excursion of bird-watching, counting and listening. Both birding journeymen and novices will have plenty to learn from this event, which should wrap up around 2 p.m.
Head to the ERC’s Ketchum office, at 471 Washington Ave. The ERC recommends a small donation of $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers, and since space is limited, preregistration is encouraged. Visit ercsv.org, call 208-726-4333 or email Alisa McGowan via email@example.com to register or for more information.
