Music lovers can head to Hailey this weekend to close out Friday at The Mint with a live concert by widely acclaimed Americana singer-songwriter John Craigie.
Craigie is something of a musician’s musician, with accolades coming in from the likes of Jack Johnson and Todd Snider (the latter of whom once hand-delivered Craigie a gift onstage). His 2017 album “No Rain, No Rose” featured collaborations with such celebrated musicians as Gregory Alan Isakov, the Shook Twins, Brad Parsons and Jay Cobb Anderson
Craigie has been described at turns as “the lovechild of John Prine and Mitch Hedberg” and “Dylan-meets-Prine,” and while any musician could be flattered by such high-flying comparisons, Craigie transcends his influences to forge a unique sound.
His laid-back, roving Americana tracks boast introspective lyrics and mellow melodies and set the stage for an extremely pleasant evening of listening.
Craigie’s performance begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, at The Mint—116 S. Main St. in Hailey. Local favorite Michaela French will open the show. Tickets range from $18-$28 and can be purchased online at haileymint.com.
