After years in development purgatory, Martin Scorsese’s new film, “The Irishman”—based on “I Heard You Paint Houses” by Ketchum author Charles Brandt—finally received its limited release on

Nov. 1.

At long last, the mafia epic will open in Ketchum at Magic Lantern Cinemas on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

The film tells the true story of Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran (Robert DeNiro), who, at the behest of mob boss Russell Bufalino (Joe Pesci), pulls the trigger on Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino).

Since its world premiere at the New York Film Festival, “The Irishman” has received near-universal critical and popular acclaim, with many tipping it as a major Oscar contender.
