Be entertained, celebrate and save money this weekend

It promises to be another busy weekend in the Wood River Valley. 

Hip-hop comes to the valley:

Hip-hop performer Christylez Bacon will perform at the Sun Valley Opera House on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. His appearance is sponsored by the Sun Valley Center for the Arts.  Tickets are $20 for members and $30 for non-members and can be purchased at The Center.  For more information  call 726-9491 or log onto www.sunvalleycenter.org.

Last call for ski pass savings:

The last day to buy a discounted 2009 - 2010 ski pass  is Sunday, Nov. 8.  A full season alpine pass is reduced by $300 to $1699, a 20-day pass costs $900 instead of $1000, a Sun Valley Nordic pass is discounted $25 to $225 and a Sun Valley/BCRD pass will sell for $375 instead of $420.

Purchase passes online at www.skipass.sunvalley.com or buy in person at the River Run ticket office or Sun Valley recreation center. 

High-schoolers perform with pride:

Wood River High School continues to present Jane Kendall's adaptation of of Jane Austen's  "Pride and Prejudice" this weekend.  Performances are at 7 p.m. at the Community Campus in Hailey with tickets on sale for $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors.  For details call 788-3481.

Party at the Y:

The Wood River YMCA is celebrating its second anniversary with an all-day party and open house on Saturday, Nov. 7.  A reception will be held from 2 - 4 p.m.  They are also offering a tween night on Saturday from 7 - 10 p.m. for kids 8 - 12 years old.  For details call 727-9622.

SVSEF fundraiser:

The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation holds its annual Fall Game Dinner on Saturday night, Nov. 7.  The evening includes cocktails and a silent auction, dinner and dancing at the Sun Valley Limelight Room.  Tickets are $100 per person.  For details call 726-4129.
