Flames bearing down on Greenhorn homes

The Castle Rock Fire has moved south into Greenhorn Gulch, west of state Highway 75 in the middle Wood River Valley. Forest Service personnel have reported that firefighters at 3:15 p.m. were actively defending houses along Greenhorn Gulch Road west of the highway.
The fire reached Greenhorn Gulch via Limekiln Gulch. An eyewitness report at 3:20 p.m. indicated that flames had also crossed into Greenhorn Gulch from Timber Gulch, south of Ketchum.
Heavy helicopters dropping retardant and water have been working the area. Ground crews are present.
