A busy Monday for emergency personnel

By :EXPRESS STAFF

Local emergency personnel had a busy Monday, responding to two cars accidents in southern Blaine County, a construction accident and a fire.

Wood River Fire and Rescue transported a 70-year-old woman to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center following a rear end car accident at Oak and Main streets in Bellevue. Bart Lassman, chief of WRFR, said the woman experienced neck and shoulder pain as a result of the collision.

"It was a minor fender-bender," Lassman said. "We were paged out at 12:59 p.m."

Earlier that morning another woman was taken to St. Luke's after a one-car rollover near Susie Q Ranch, about a mile east of Picabo. Lassman said the dispatch received the emergency call at 8:46 a.m.

WRFR also transported a 50-year-old man with back pain after he fell off a ladder while hanging sheetrock in Bellevue.

"He fell about seven feet," Lassman said.

Fire personnel from Wood River, Bellevue and Hailey were paged out at 11:08 p.m. last night for a possible structure fire on Briarwood Drive in Hailey's Woodside subdivision.

"There was light smoke showing from an apartment building," Lassman said. "It did not go to flames. It was more of an interior fire in the wall. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish it. There was some charring on the baseboard heater, which could have shorted out."
