Itís a wrap!

Crosswalk users like the one above aren’t the only people who will appreciate the art that has been appearing since Labor Day on utility boxes around downtown. Pat Kilby’s creation showing ore wagons and located at Main Street and Sun Valley Road was sponsored by Atkinsons’ Markets. Ketchum Arts Commission Vice Chairman Marybeth Flower explained recently that the installations were the brainchild of actress Claudia McCain some 17 years ago and finally realized with the help of Idaho artists and the commission. With help from the Idaho Commission on Arts and fundraising, there was a juried call to artists. There is another box at Ketchum Town Square and one across from nexStage Theatre. More will be added in coming years. “We are really happy with the quality of the work,” she said. “It brings a vitality to downtown and we are thrilled.”
