Blaine County School District students Bella Stimac and Olivia Stimac have been named the 2012 recipients of the Gail Nolan Young Women's Golf Scholarship designed to help young women become independent thinkers and develop self-confidence through golf.
Bella Stimac is a Wood River High School sophomore and member of the Wolverine golf team.
Olivia Stimac, her younger sister, attends Wood River Middle School and is just getting acquainted with golf.
They enjoy spending time on the course with their parents, Jamie and Max Stimac of Hailey. The young ladies have also received guidance in golf fundamentals from Aaron Thompson of Bigwood Golf Course.
This is the third year that DL Evans Bank and the Bigwood Women's Golf Association have partnered to provide young women from Blaine County with a scholarship.
Scholarship recipient for the past two years was recent Wood River High graduate Jennie Williams, who became one of Idaho's best female high school golfers. She will attend North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene on a golf scholarship.
