Three refrigerators and an electric range were stolen sometime during the past week from three Valley Club condominium units at Agave Place, located at the north end of Buttercup Road north of Hailey.
"It's grand theft, a felony," said Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey.
Only one of the 12 units at Agave Place is inhabited. Employees of Lee Gilman Builders had been working to upgrade the units for sale when the refrigerators and range went missing.
"We started working there about four weeks ago," said Wes Powell, a foreman with Lee Gilman Builders, who initially thought just one refrigerator was missing. "I would check in periodically. Originally, we thought one of the subcontractors moved it to [another] unit to make more space for working."
Powell said further investigation revealed that not only were the other reported appliances missing, but a second range had been unplugged and moved out of position.
He said the refrigerators are white and manufactured by Whirlpool, and added that although the appliances had been on the property for a few years, they were unused and still had packing stickers on them.
"Because they are near the bike path, there was disbelief that somebody would do that," he said.
Ramsey said the Sheriff's Office had no leads in the investigation.
