SG speed tests kids at Jackson Hole

Wes Barron Speed Series


     A strong contingent of U-16 (ages 14-15) boys led the traveling squad of 42 Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation racers during super giant slalom races of the Wes Barron Speed Series Saturday through Monday at Jackson Hole (Wyo.) Mountain Resort.

     Duncan Fuller and Will Snyder podiumed with second- and third-place finishes in the boys’ 14-15 class. Yuri McClure, Kristian DeWolfe and John Blackburn were close behind.

     Bennett Snyder and Jake Blackburn won U-14 (ages 12-13) boys’ races among 50 starters. Molly Milgard and Libby Kaiser placed 3-4 in the 55-racer U-14 race on Saturday.

     Here are SVSEF kids and their best class placings for three super giant slaloms that attracted 136 boys ages 12-19 and 141 girls ages 12-17 Saturday through Monday:

     U-16 girls: 6—Sage Rheinschild (9th, 6th overall). 12—Royce Rheinschild. 17—Margot Griffith. 22—Maddox Ormiston. 26—Bailey Holter. 42—Riley Revallier. 43—Carolina Mahedy. 49—Libby Lindstrom. DNF—Ava Mazzoni, Katelyn Rathfon (86 racers in the U-18/U-16/U-14 races).

     U-16 boys: 2—Duncan Fuller (2nd, 5th, 7th overall). 3—Will Snyder (3rd and 8th overall). 4—Yuri McClure (6th, 7th, 6th overall). 6—Kristian DeWolfe (8th overall). 9—Sebastian Mastor. 10—John Blackburn. 14—Cooper Dart. 16—John Garrett. 20—Noah Leininger. 21—Wyatt Smith. 34—Macjames Mizer. 38—Blake Deilke. 52—Keegan Webber (86 racers in the U-18/U-16/U-14 races).

     U-14 girls: 2—Libby Kaiser. 3—Molly Milgard. 7—Lily Fitzgerald and Allison Rathfon. 9—Sophia Mazzoni. 12—Lucy More. 13—Madison Ferris. 32—Miriam Gilman. 34—Molly Kucher. 50—Lauren Baty (55 racers).

     U-14 boys: 1—Jake Blackburn and Bennett Snyder. 3—Wyatt Minor. 5—Matt O’Connor. 7—Charlie Stumph. 9—Logan Chai. 12—Ethan Daves. 15—Benjamin Travers. 26—William Everitt (50 racers).
