Beverly Ann Davis

“No one could give a party like Beverly Ann Davis!” say longtime friends. Beverly passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2013, surrounded by her family and beloved dog, Cody.
Beverly Ann Burke was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Boise, Idaho. She graduated from Boise High School in 1949 and attended the University of Idaho as a French major. She lived in Boise for most of her life, but was currently living in Sun Valley with her husband, John Davis.
Best known for her impeccable taste and style, she will be most remembered for her incredible and creative cooking. Her grandchildren never stopped talking about her buttermilk huckleberry pancakes. Her crazy cake was famous. In fact, anyone who knew her would never give up an opportunity to sit at her table for a gourmet meal and a lively political discussion. From barn dances to epicurean picnics, the fun and flavors flowed.
Beverly, forever curious, traveled the world. From ski trips in the Alps to elephant treks in Thailand, she managed to step foot on most of our continents. Always adventurous, Beverly loved dips in cold lakes, accompanying her husband on hunting trips, hiking in Idaho’s mountains and sleeping under the stars. She was also an athlete who loved downhill and cross-country skiing and golf.
Beverly is survived by her husband, John, of Sun Valley, Idaho; daughters, Nancy Jordan and son-in-law David Ferris of Bethesda, Md., Polly Jordan of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Margo Hon of Ojai, Calif.; sons Randy Jordan of Boise, Idaho, Dan Jordan and daughter-in-law Heather Jordan of Oreana, Idaho, and Mark Hon and daughter-in-law Claudia Hon of Sandpoint, Idaho; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial will be held in Sun Valley later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Panhandle Animal Shelter, 870 Kootenai Cutoff Rd., Ponderay, ID 83852.
