What starts with a “Jew-fro” and ends with an alien?
That would be Whiskey Jacques’ music roster through the rest of 2013.
“Basically, it is probably one of the best and most diverse lineups I have ever seen at Whiskeys,” said talent booker Ryan Kolquist.
After a sold-out performance for the Firefighters’ Ball last month, Andy Frasco & The U.N. return Saturday, Dec. 21, at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are $8, $10 at the door. Frasco, who plays high-energy keyboards, refers to his head of hair as a “Jew-fro.”
Then, on Sunday, Dec. 22, electronica reigns when MASSV headline artist James Egbert blazes in with aggressive tracks from the underground electro scene. Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, or $10 at the show.
Country’s rising star McKenna Faith returns to Ketchum Monday, Dec. 23, at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, or $10 at the door.
Eliot Lipp with Pool Party takes the stage on Thursday, Dec. 26, at 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. The California band and the New York native Lipp can be previewed at eliotlipp.com and www.poolpartyband.com.
Friday, Dec. 27, kicks off a countdown to 2014 with Spike Coggins opening for Micky and The Motorcars. Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20 while they last. The Americana rock band is taking Texas’ music scene by storm and usually sells out venues in their home state of Idaho.
Strat & Mouse with Mr. Chief warm up Saturday, Dec. 28, starting at 9 p.m. for $8 and Sunday, Dec. 29, the Fox Street All-Stars bring their new album, “Tough Talk,” to the party. Ann Marie Boskovich will open. Tickets are $8 in advance.
No year is complete without The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience with ZoSo, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 30, at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12 pre-sale, $15 at the door.
On Tuesday, Dec. 31, DJ Doc Rock/DJ Alien joins Aces Up and Marmalade Hill for a champagne and music fest starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are $55 in advance and $60 at the door.
In Hailey, Sun Valley Brewery will host an all-ages open-mic/karaoke night on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m. The Sofa Kings will bring a rock jam on Friday, Dec. 20, at 8:30 p.m. and Hurdy Gurdy Girls with special guest R. Quakenbush play and host an open-mic night Saturday, Dec. 21, at 8 p.m.
