A Blaine County grand jury has indicted a 35-year-old Blaine County resident on five felony charges for allegedly having a five-year-long sexual relationship with an underage girl that started when the girl was 10 years old.
Pedro A. Ore-Quispe, who was already in the Blaine County jail on a felony rape charge filed against him on Nov. 18, was arraigned on the new counts on Nov. 26 and his bond was raised from $75,000 to $250,000.
The grand jury indictment now charges Ore-Quispe with three counts of rape, one count of lewd conduct with a child under the age of 16 and one count of sexual abuse a child under the age of 16.
Rape and lewd conduct are both punishable in Idaho by up to life in prison, while the sexual-abuse charge is punishable by up to 25 years behind bars.
Ore-Quispe is also accused by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency of being in the United States illegally. According to court records, Ore-Quispe, who most recently resided at a trailer court south of Ketchum, has been in Blaine County since at least 2008, when the first crime allegedly occurred against the girl.
The indictment alleges that Ore-Quispe began having sexual intercourse with the girl in 2008 when she was 10 and that the sexual relationship continued into October of this year when the girl was 15.
The lewd-conduct charge alleges that Ore-Quispe committed sex crimes other than rape against the girl. The sexual-abuse allegation accuses the defendant of receiving nude or semi-nude photographic images from the girl.
The case was investigated by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office and the Blaine County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Sheriff Gene Ramsey said earlier that Ore-Quispe was arrested on Nov. 13 after the girl’s mother complained to authorities.
