The Hemingway Chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its November meeting on Wednesday, rather than Thursday, as is typically the case.
The meeting is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 6 at Whiskey Jacques’ Restaurant and Nightclub on Main Street in Ketchum. There is no charge and the public is invited.
The meeting’s presentation will be provided by Greg Loomis, a professional guide and longtime Wood River Valley resident who has spent the past eight years collecting technical data on Silver Creek and making the information available to the public, landowners, the Nature Conservancy and anyone else interested in the data.
Loomis is one of the creators and administrators of SaveSilverCreek.org, a website with extensive news and information on Silver Creek, including maps, photographs and data on temperature measurements, water flow and silt accumulations.
The work by Loomis is consistent with the mission of Trout Unlimited, which is to protect, reconnect and sustain cold water fisheries and habitat. For more information, contact Hemingway Chapter President Ed Northen at 788-3618.
