A 59-year-old Bellevue woman was treated and released at St. Luke’s Wood River hospital after her vehicle collided with an elk on state Highway 75 on Thursday morning.
The Blaine County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as Patricia Hull. She was taken to the hospital by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance. Sheriff Gene Ramsey said Hull was experiencing “tingling and numbness.”
Ramsey said the accident occurred at about 6:10 p.m. about 300 feet north of the Highway 75 intersection with East Fork Road. The sheriff said Hull, northbound and driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee, began slowing down for highway construction in the area when the elk darted onto the road in front of her.
Ramsey said Hull was wearing a seatbelt. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,000. The investigation report did not have information regarding the fate of the elk.
