A 65-year-old Nevada woman was treated and released at St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident Wednesday morning that disrupted rush-hour traffic on state Highway 75 between Hailey and Ketchum.
The Blaine County Sheriff’s Office identified the woman as Nilda P. Lale, of Las Vegas. Sheriff Gene Ramsey said Lale had no broken bones but complained of shoulder and neck pain. She was taken to the hospital by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. in the Gimlet area.
Ramsey said Gloria Vilcapoma, 47, of Ketchum, driving a 2003 Toyota, was pulling onto the highway from the Country Chalet trailer park when she was struck by a southbound 2011 Cadillac SUV driven by Lale.
Ramsey said everyone involved in the accident were wearing seatbelts. He said Vilcapoma was cited for “failure to yield when entering a highway.”
The sheriff said the accident tied up traffic and reduced the highway to one lane only for about an hour.
