I just finished your article “Committee mulls overpass for elk”. You quoted Mike Todd, retired from the Fish and Game Department, as saying: “I really don’t think an underpass or an overpass is going to solve your problem.”
I spent the next five minutes on Google and found enough evidence supporting overpasses (which are used all over the world very successfully) to question what facts he is basing his statement on. One more bad accident at Deer Creek is one too many.
Please, Blaine County Wildlife Crossing Committee, do some basic research and compare the expensive overpass with the much more expensive accidents that it would prevent, and do the right thing.
