The bike path is a tremendous community asset. It provides connectivity for non-motorized transportation in our valley. Getting around on a bike is not only a healthy option, it reduces emissions and it is simply fun.
Last year’s trail count study estimated the bike path was used over 300,000 times just during the dry months. In addition to bike commuting and transportation, we enjoy the bike path for recreational cycling, rollerblading, skateboarding, dog walking and summer Nordic training. One of the best parts about the bike path is that it is available to everyone. The full demographic spectrum enjoys the bike path.
The bike path is nearly 30 years old and is in need of major repair in order to be around for another 30 years. Now is the most cost-effective time to resurface and rebuild in order to ensure this community asset is here to enjoy.
Please vote “yes” on the two-year levy ballot on May 21 or through early voting.
