The local office of a national recruiting firm has given $1,600 and nearly 300 hours of employee time so far to local nonprofit organizations as part of a bicoastal community service program.
Redfish Technology is a national recruiter for high tech and green technology industries, matching job seekers with companies that need people experienced in renewable energy and wind, geothermal, solar and biofuel energy, as well as web development, social media, gaming, e-learning and information technology.
The firm has offices in California and Rhode Island, but it was the Hailey office that put itself on the map by developing its One for One community service program.
Anna Mathieu, the company’s marketing communications manager, said the program is simple: For every employee that the recruiting firm matches with a company, Redfish Technology gives $100 and at least one hour of volunteer time to a local nonprofit organization. The top recruiter for the branch each quarter is allowed to choose which local organization receives the quarterly “pot” of money.
The One for One program started in September. This quarter, the company’s monetary donation, about $1,600, went to the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley near Hailey. IT Sales and Marketing Recruitment Manager Joanna Bradley said she chose the organization because of its mission to place dogs in loving homes (it also places cats).
Shelter Executive Director JoAnn Dixon said the shelter was honored to receive the company’s donation.
“This gift will help us provide quality and loving care to the animals in our community, such as Blossom, who arrived at our doors pregnant last week and now has 12 puppies to feed,” she said Monday. “From our sheltering and adoption programs to our community outreach services, none of it would be possible without the support of this amazing community.”
Bradley started volunteering with the local branch of Girls on the Run this week. The organization helps boost young girls’ self-esteem through fitness. Redfish Technology CEO Rob Reeves volunteered with the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s Devo Triathalon, the organization’s season finale. Recruiter Greg Schreiner volunteered with the Recreation District’s basketball clinic this quarter and recruiter Jon Piggins continues to volunteer with the Sawtooth United Football Club.
