Support the Wood River Trail

I am so glad that the Blaine County Recreation District is asking for funds to repave and reconstruct the bicycle path.  As a Hulen Meadows resident, I have become alarmed by the bumps and cracks in the trail despite the obvious efforts to patch it over the years. There is no doubt in my mind that a major overhaul is needed to keep it safe.

I have ridden the trail a lot, riding to Hailey and back while serving on the Blaine County Commission, but now more often for trips to Ketchum and Sun Valley. I don’t feel comfortable riding my bicycle on the highway, here or anywhere, and I personally know that I wouldn’t be getting the exercise and health benefits without the safety of the Wood River Trail.

I hope that you will join me in voting yes for the two-year tax levy on the May 21 ballot.  This temporary levy is a great investment and it will allow us to continue to travel throughout our valley safely, and enjoy healthy activities, for the next 30 years.
