Free comedy at Sun Valley Resort
Comedian Dwight Slade returns to town this weekend as part of Sun Valley Resort’s Winter Comedy Series with some new tricks up his sleeve.
Slade is performing Feb. 8 and 9 at 8:30 p.m. at the Duchin Lounge, and both shows are free.
“I came to Ketchum last year for the comedy series and haven’t really left, which in this town means one of two things—you maxed out a credit card or met a girl,” he joked. “I maxed out a girl’s credit card.”
Slade has appeared on Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing and the Tonight Show. Known for his references to classic “social injustices” like the unabashed negligence of hands-free headset conversations and his dead-on impressions of battling crabs, he is honing his material to the Ketchum audience.
“Sun Valley is a unique part of the world and it requires a different perspective to joke about. I just hope people have a good sense of humor!”
Slade started comedy in Houston, Texas, at age 14 as part of a team with the legendary comic Bill Hicks. His early days are illustrated in the inventive documentary “American: The Bill Hicks Story.” Now Slade has performed around the world, including Afghanistan, Israel and Europe.
