Grand jury indicts man on sex charges

Suspect arrested Monday by Sheriff’s Office

A 31-year-old Hailey man was arrested Monday on a Blaine County grand jury indictment charging him with two felonies, rape and lewd conduct with a minor child under 16.

Dawson A. Howard was taken into custody at his place of employment in Ketchum at about 1:30 p.m. by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office. The indictment was issued Friday.

Howard remained incarcerated Tuesday morning in the Blaine County jail on $50,000 bond. He was scheduled for arraignment later that day in Blaine County 5th District Court.

Additional information was not available by press deadline Tuesday because the case file against Dawson is currently sealed.
