Figure skaters enjoy Ogden contest

Members of the Sun Valley Figure Skating Club competed in the Wasatch Freedom Classic at Ogden, Utah Nov. 2-3. Local coach Darlin Baker accompanied the skaters.

Here are results submitted this week by the club:

 1st places—Bella Maurtua, Basic 6 Freeskate; Saba Grossman and Jessica Blackburn, Showcase Duet; Aurora Wilkinson, Pre-Preliminary Artistic;

 2nd places—Sheldon Gentling, Pre-Preliminary Freeskate Group A; Prescott Potter, Pre-Preliminary Artistic; Alex Griffin, Basic 2 Freeskate and Avery Griffin, Basic 4 Freeskate Group B;

 3rd places—Tatum Fuller, Pre-Preliminary Artistic; Jessica Blackburn, Freeskate 3 Freeskate; and Carson Vogel, Basic 5 Freeskate;

 4th places—Prescott Potter, Pre-Preliminary Freeskate Group A; Samantha Bunting, Pre-Preliminary Freeskate; and Saba Grossman, Freeskate 3 Freeskate;

 5th place—Tatum Fuller, Pre-Preliminary Freeskate Group A.


Test results

Several skaters from SVFSC tested for both their Moves in the Field Tests and their Freeskate Tests at Ogden.

The Freeskate tests determine what level the skater is allowed to compete at while the Moves in the Field Tests determine what skill level the skater has accomplished.

Locals passed 12 tests:

Nicole Pratt: Gold Freeskate;

Travis Flynt: Intermediate Moves in the Field;

Claire Stickney: Pre-Juvenile Freeskate;

Aurora Wilkinson: Preliminary Freeskate and Pre-Juvenile Moves in the Field;

Sheldon Gentling: Preliminary Freeskate;

Tatum Fuller: Pre-Preliminary Freeskate and Pre-Juvenile Moves in the Field;

Samantha Bunting: Pre-Preliminary Freeskate and Pre-Juvenile Moves in the Field;

Prescott Potter; Pre-Juvenile Moves in the Field;

Bella Maurtua: Pre-Preliminary Moves in the Field;
