Larry Lee Haskin, 73, of Jerome, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at his home due to complications of diabetes. He was born July 17, 1939, in Rupert, Idaho, the son of Harold J. Haskin and Ruth O. Barksdale Haskin. He graduated from Minico High School. He married Karen Martindale and they settled in Hailey, Idaho, where they raised five children and were partners with his parents in a Western Auto Store. After retiring, they moved to Jerome. Larry was a devoted family man and especially enjoyed the time he spent with all of his family.
Larry is survived by his sweetheart of more than 55 years, Karen Haskin of Jerome; their children, Andy (Kim) Haskin, Koleen Drain, Mona Loveless, Karla (Kent) McBride and Gina (Bert) Slane. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene (Camille) Haskin; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Judy; his son-in-law, Darrell Loveless; his great-grandson, Payton; his nephew, Jimmy; and his great-niece, Ashley.
Larry's family would like to extend a special “thank you” to St. Luke's Hospice for their wonderful care and family support, the American Red Cross for helping get his grandson serving in Japan home to be with his grandfather and Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Larry's life will be conducted at noon, Friday Nov. 9, at the Magic Valley Evangelical Free Church, 521 East Ave. H, Jerome.
