A 17-year-old boy was transported to St. Luke's Wood River after he ran into a moving vehicle Tuesday just north of the intersection of Elkhorn Road and state Highway 75.
Ketchum police declined to release the boy's name, and without the name the Idaho Mountain Express was unable to find out his condition at the hospital. However, Ketchum Police Chief Steve Harkins said Wednesday that the boy's injuries were "not life-threatening."
The accident occurred at about 12:10 p.m. Harkins said Ketchum resident Roger Wilson was northbound on the highway when the boy ran from some trees on the east side of the highway and crashed into the passenger side of the gray Nissan SUV that Wilson was driving.
The boy was taken to the hospital by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance.
"From our initial investigation, we have reason to believe the 17-year-old intentionally ran into the vehicle," Harkins said.
No citation was issued. Harkins said the accident remains under investigation.
