The final day of skiing and snowboarding this season at Dollar Mountain was celebrated Sunday, April 3, with the Dollar Dayz event. Hundreds of spectators turned out for a barbecue and to watch 120 skiers and boarders attempt to navigate across a 92-foot-wide pond filled with 3 feet of 37-degree water. Snowboarder Zach Venzon, front, and firefighter Jamie Hoover—wearing his uniform—pulled a double entry and both successfully glided across the pond.
