Spook Splash makes the short course debut

SV5B swimmers in Idaho Falls

SV5B swimmers debuted their short course season Oct. 23-24 during the Idaho Falls Spook Splash at Idaho Falls Aquatic Center. Thirteen SV5B girls and one boy took part.

Lena Friesen and Kaedi Fry collected five golds apiece in their respective 14-year-old and 12-year-old classes. Friesen swept 100 fly, free, back and breast, plus 200 IM. Fry won 100 IM and 100 free plus 50 free, back and breast events.

Tayler Bates doubled by winning the 50 free and 200 free in the 14-year-old class. Single event winners were Taylor Coiner in 17-year-old 200 IM, Tori Emerick in 16-year-old 50 free, and Bryce Ervin in 17-year-old for the 100 breast.

Many other SV5B swimmers secured top placings. The 14-year-old girls division was particularly successful, with Friesen, Bates and Chrystal Tullis going 1-2-3 in the 100 free race, and 1-2-4 in the 200 IM.

Six-year-old Daisy Buxton and seven-year-olds Avalon Jones and Jennifer Ochoa made their first appearances in a Snake River Swimming/USA meet and did quite well.
