Why are you bothering a city you don't live in????????????? 09/14/07 - 21:35
I live in Idaho. What state do you live in? 09/25/07 - 14:27
Ryan, if you look by my name it says Hailey, ID. I live in this town and you don't. Why bother with this mess? Why bother people who don't want this? There may be a few who do want this but you will find out your efforts here are wasted. 09/05/07 - 08:56
Ryan Davidson's marijuana initiative is a waste of time. His efforts should be directed at changing federal law. In California, where use of medical marijuana is allowed by state law, those patients still risk arrest by federal agents. The US Supreme Court has upheld federal power in regards to this subject: en.wikipedia.org Rumor has it that Mr. Davidson is being paid to get these initiatives on municipal ballots. He does not respond to emails and blog comments that challenge his motivations. I think local journalists should ask him some questions about this. Trying to make marijuana "legal" in a municipality while ignoring state and federal law makes marijuana advocates look stupid. The real issue is hemp. The reasons it is illegal are outlined here: www.jackherer.com Jack Herer has been researching this for many years. The text of his book is available online, while his photocopied references are available if you buy his book. These references take up more than half of the printed version of the book. Mr. Davidson and his backers should be pushing a law that mandates educating the public about hemp and why the USA is one of only two countries that does not make a distinction between industrial hemp and marijuana, not a pointless local initiative that ignores federal and state law. I am suspicious of their true motivations. Leave a Comment
