THANK YOU

I went to our PO Box and found a card addressed to our son. His 17th birthday was not the same as all the years before, just losing his dad and with two of his brothers serving in Iraq. Instead of a party, at his request, we drove to the grave of his dad. This birthday card was from a Colorado Springs Co. law firm, that I had only a consultation with. I paid them no retainer and asked not for any free legal counsel. They not only guided me in the way I needed to go in regards to filings and finding sound different counsel in Nevada, (a firm of which has also not excepted any money and has extended (a free of charge) outpouring of understanding, knowledge and willingness to help), but they sent our son a birthday card! With tear filled eyes, my heart came to the realization that there are more people supportive and compassionate, that have and continue to extended their hearts and generous support, financially and emotionally, to myself and our children. With no health/life insurance, no real assets but plenty of liabilities, these people have put the human aspect back into our lives. Although there is “no more Bart” our hearts and our lives are directly affected by the loss of his presence. No words can come close to describing this man, his moral compass always pointed due north, without regard for himself he gave everything to anyone who needed him - just like all the people and firms that are helping us now without regard to a claim on the estate (or lack there of). I want to send the deepest thanks to those listed above as well as, Donna and Jon, the anonymous donors, Becky Ludwig, Dave & Maggy Sturdevant and the endless number of people who help. It is in the shelter and safety of others that wounded people live until they can heal. This truly is a compassionate community and I am thankful to have the opportunity to continue to raise our children here.
~Kathy Workman

THANK YOU

To Chris and Anne who live in China Gardens, thank you so much for cleaning up my old barn wood and the space where the pavers were! I wish I would have gotten your last names so I could send you a thank you letter. It looks so great. I couldn't have found better people to give my extra bricks and pavers to. So glad you could use them! People like you make Hailey the perfect place to live. ~Jill Swanger
